The Issues that I work with
Often people come with one difficulty and then we discover that is just part of the picture. No one has one ‘problem’ and it is impossible to pre-judge what anyone will bring.
I am comfortable for you to share your life story with me, no matter what that may be and my aim is to wait with you until the time feels right for you to open these issues into the safety of our relationship. I have been working as a therapist for 25 years, in that time I have supported people with a multitude of difficulties and tangled strands of experiences which have led to suffering. About 80% of my clients are longer term; people who have experienced difficult early years and for whom this colours their everyday adult life. Some clients want to explore in depth whilst others need to spend some time organising their thoughts and making decisions. Some people come for support through the darkest of times, for example after bereavement. You are welcome to come to just one session or for an open ended contract. Therapy can be painful and challenging, sometimes bringing up the unexpected and talking about your feelings can seem daunting. However, even coming to the first session can sometimes bring great relief. |
How we would work together
Usually you would see me once a week. I try to be flexible with times to fit into our mutual schedules. Some people prefer to come more frequently, for example on two or three days in the week, this works especially well should you need support at times of extreme difficulty.
Because I offer a variety of ways of working along with talking therapy, for example, Art, Emotional Freedom Technique, Mediation and Breathwork, Visualisation, Imagery, and Eco based Therapy, it is sometimes an advantage to schedule sessions that are longer than the usual hour. Some clients find that this extended time gives them an opportunity to open up and to fully express and experience the therapeutic process. The aim is to help you find clarity and understanding and move towards implementing change and creating a more balanced way forward in your life. |

A scar means the hurt is over, the wound is
